Finance Analyst

Position Profile: The Finance Analyst is an integral member of the Treasury Team ensuring that company models/forecasts are updated in a timely manner and financial variance reporting aligns with the company budget. Reporting to the Treasurer and supervised by the Finance Associate, the Finance Analyst works closely with the Treasurer and the Senior Management team to complete detailed analyses of short and long-term strategic forecasts to assist with resource planning, capitalization needs and M&A activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Without restricting the generality of this job description, the Finance Analyst for Meritage Midstream shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to, the following:
 Assists with updating corporate models and forecasts.
 Supports the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial variance reporting analysis.
 Assists the Accounting department to understand variances to budget for the monthly management financial reports.
 Engages with Engineering, Operations, Business Development, Accounting and other departments to create and maintain ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed.
 Performs research and analysis on commodity pricing and other industry trends.
 Assists with creating and maintaining internal and external presentations.
 Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Treasurer or Finance Team.

Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
 Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
 Oil and Gas Industry knowledge highly desired, Midstream experience a plus
 Entry – 3 years' experience
 Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
 Strong analytical skills with the ability to process information from a variety of sources, understand the key insights and develop well thought out communications
 Strong sense of urgency and proven capability to work within short deadlines in a fast-paced environment
 Solid organizational skills including acute attention to detail
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
 Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods or for special projects

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Visual Acuity Requirements: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions: None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
